Honorable Paul W. Grimm
Paul W. Grimm serves as a United States District Judge for the District of Maryland. Previously, he served as a United States Magistrate Judge, and Chief Magistrate Judge for the District of Maryland. In 2009, the Chief Justice of the United States appointed Judge Grimm to serve as a member of the Civil Rules Advisory Committee, where he served for six years and Chaired the Discovery Subcommittee. Before appointment to the court, Judge Grimm was in private practice for thirteen years, handling commercial litigation. Prior to that, he served as an Assistant Attorney General for Maryland, an Assistant States Attorney for Baltimore County, Maryland, and an active duty and Reserve Army Judge Advocate General's Corps officer, retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel in 2001. Judge Grimm has served as an adjunct professor of law at the University of Maryland School of Law, and University of Baltimore School of law, and has published many articles on evidence and civil procedure. |
