The Seventeenth Public Meeting of the Defense Advisory Committee on Investigation, Prosecution, and Defense of Sexual Assault in the Armed Forces will be held on Friday, May 15, 2020 via teleconference.

Arlington, VA - The seventeenth public meeting of the Defense Advisory Committee on Investigation, Prosecution, and Defense of Sexual Assault in the Armed Forces ("DAC-IPAD" or "the Committee"), will be held on Friday, May 15, 2020, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., via teleconference.  Connectivity to this meeting is limited and on a first-come basis.  To access the teleconference dial: 410-874-6300, conference pin: 450506218.

The DAC-IPAD was established by the Secretary of Defense in February 2016, in accordance with section 546 of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2015, as amended. The Committee is tasked to advise the Secretary of Defense on the investigation, prosecution, and defense of allegations of rape, forcible sodomy, sexual assault, and other sexual misconduct involving members of the Armed Forces based on its review of such cases on an ongoing basis.

At this meeting the Committee will deliberate and vote on the draft DAC-IPAD Report on the Feasibility and Advisability of Establishing a Process Under Which a Guardian Ad Litem May Be Appointed to Represent the Interest of a Victim of an Alleged Sex-Related Offense Who Has Not Attained the Age of 18 Years. Next, the Committee will deliberate and vote on the DAC-IPAD response to the Department of Defense Report on Preservation of Restricted Report Option for Adult Sexual Assault Victims. Finally, the Committee will receive updates from the DAC-IP AD Case Review, Policy and Data Working Groups.
